Custom Electronics Assembly was founded in 1979 amidst
the explosive growth of technology-based companies in the “Silicon
Forest” of the Pacific Northwest. During that time literally dozens
of new startup companies were springing up every year. Although many
of these small companies were born out of new and innovative ideas,
they were lacking adequate manufacturing resources. We filled that gap
for them.

With a used wave solder machine, a small but dedicated team, and a
lot of determination, we began working with a small number of clients,
building and testing their circuit boards, cables, and systems. Our
unwavering focus on quality, our short lead times, and our low overhead
contributed significantly to our clients’ profitability. Our clients
were very loyal.

Our ability to react quickly and provide
personalized service were assets that set us apart. With no advertising
and no sales team, we began to grow, solely by word of mouth. In 1981,
we moved to a larger facility, but still within Forest Grove. In 2004, we moved
to a much better facility in the city of Hillsboro, Oregon. We were determined
to stay in a small town because that atmosphere was a perfect match
for the developing culture of our company. We have always believed that
it was important to maintain a family type environment and support our
local community. Our workers, our vendors and many of our customers are
also our neighbors. |
In 1989 we acquired our second solder machine so that we could handle
larger boards and expand our customer base. Today we provide the same
personalized service and uncompromising quality that we have for over
20 years. Many of our customers have been with us for more than 15 years.
And we continue to strive to exceed their expectations.

The entrepreneurial spirit that has always been part
of the Northwest is alive and well in our team at Custom Electronics
Assembly. We look forward to the future.
